HYBRID Meeting

This program is designed for society members ready to convert their analog research and family history assets into a streamlined, digital system. Whether you're managing decades of paper files or just getting started with photos and documents passed down from relatives, this session will guide you through the essential tools and techniques for digitization.

We'll cover advanced practices for:

  • ·Choosing the right scanner for the right job—flatbeds, handhelds, auto-feeders, and even phone apps, with real-life examples of what works best for photos, fragile documents, and bulk projects.
  • ·Digital file organization—tips for naming, structuring folders, and keeping your system consistent across projects and devices.
  • ·Preservation and backup strategies—how to protect your digital files from loss, corruption, or disorganization, including cloud services and external drives.
